Landon Anderson

Amplify Faculty: Ballroom

Landon is a 4-time US National Junior, and 3-time National Youth American Rhythm Champion, National Under-21 Latin Champion, National Youth Latin Vice-Champion, represented the US in the 2012 World Youth Latin Championships and is a recent 3-time US National Amateur Cabaret Champion (twice with sister Charity--World of Dance season 2 teen division winner). He was in the top 40 of So You Think You Can Dance (season 11) and has appeared on Dancing With The Stars (season 15) and several viral videos such as Stormtrooper Secrets with YouTube creator ScottDW. For many years he has choreographed Overall High Point Award-winning and thought-provoking pieces for teams in Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Ballroom. His personally choreographed and performed teen contemporary solo Distractions was awarded National Outstanding Choreography by the NYCDA. He is a National Teen Male Outstanding Dancer 1st Runner-Up (NYCDA) and a National Senior Male Best Dancer Finalist (The Dance Awards). He also starred in the pieces that won Center Stage Performing Arts Studio the title “National Studio of the Year” in 2012  (The Dance Awards). He was many times a guest performer and choreographer for Provo, Utah Freedom Festival’s Stadium of Fire, and a guest performer for industrials like The Outdoor Retailer Show, 4-Life, MonaVie, Kyani, and RootsTech.


Midway in his dance career, he was blessed to take 2 years' time off to serve a mission in Córdoba, Argentina for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is fluent in Spanish and pursues a lifelong study of languages including the arts, the language of the soul. Upon return from Argentina, he received several half and full-tuition scholarships to BYU through the Ballroom Touring Company. He also taught Ballroom there as a student-teacher. He graduated from BYU with a BS in Exercise and Wellness, a Ballroom Dance Minor, and CPR Certification. He is ISTD Certified in The International Ballroom Technique.


Landon met his wife Hannah in college. They danced together on the BYU Ballroom Touring Company performing in much of the US, South America and Europe. With their team they were privileged to win, against 8 contested teams, the 2019 British Latin Formation Team Championship at the prestigious Blackpool Dance Festival in Blackpool, England. In the Amateur American Smooth Category they are 1 time BYU Dancesport, 2 time NYDF, and 2 time Utah Dancesport Challenge Champions, and are US National Amateur American Smooth Vice-Champions. They are current US National Open Professional American Smooth Quarter Finalists, Seattle Star Ball Rising Star Smooth top 3 and Seattle Star Ball Open Professional Smooth Finalists. They are Open Professional American Smooth regional finalists. They currently teach at Pacific Ballroom Dance in Auburn, Washington and are new parents to a beautiful baby girl. They were married and sealed for eternity in February 2020. They love traveling, trying new foods, exploring the great outdoors, and playing with their little dog Gus.
